I like time of the CDNLive Silicon Valley a few years ago when it was in the Oct/Nov time frame, so all the conferences are more evenly spread in the year.

Now, CDNLive Silicon is sitting right between DVCON and DAC. It's hard to get travel budget approved to attend 2 conference in the same quarter.
 
You're right about travel budgets being scrutinized and tight, so let's see if the March event has lower or higher attendance.
