Batteries advances picking up speed

Just as chips of all types are advancing at an ever-increasing rate due to new technologies and tools, so is the field of batteries also picking up speed with new developments in batteries and the systems that control and monitor them. I see these two markets feeding on each other as many of the core technologies are either symbiotic or share related technologies and processes. The ways of even recharging batteries by processes like changing fluids and other processes are creating a changing world in energy storage. With the talent and resources being put into this area, there is a good chance we will see some radical advances coming that at this time few have even imagined or predicted. These advances will also create entirely new markets for traditional semis in everything from motors to solar to energy transfer and transmission. Handling and dealing with energies of all types is becoming a very large and rapidly changing industry that will create entirely new markets for themselves and semis of all types and sizes. It might even create solar cells that are storage mediums in and of themselves with far greater efficiencies by bypassing energy transfer between a solar cell and battery. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated on this, especially the companies involved directly or in the supply chain. I see some staggering potential for AMAT in this area.
