The capacity of AMD's new Naples processor could hurt Intel due to its ability to handle increased input and throughput. In data centers and many other areas this
will give it a key advantage over Intel's processors. The only question is how long will this lead last? Is Intel going to continue to loose it's lead in area after area? Is it time for Intel to make management changes?
Naples will be competing with Skylake-EP, not Broadwell-EP, as the article says. That still means Naples has an advantage, but a bit more narrow. (Skylake-EP will have 6 channels DDR4, versus Naples 8 channel DDR4.)
Yeah, I'd say once Intel stock tanks, as it has to, they will have to kick Krzanich out. Intel's current strategy is to pretend the competition doesn't exist. They are still selling the i7 6800k for $1000+, as if Ryzen doesn't exist.
