AI for Medical Diagnostics

Arthur Hanson

AI can now learn from medical notes to learn to do medical diagnostics on Xray's. In the the near future this opens the possibility of AI doing diagnostics and learning at an ever accelerating rate eventually on its own as the data bases get larger and larger from a compounding effect. Since diagnostics consume forty percent of a doctor's time, this could be a revolution in diagnostics. If this is extended to current medical robotic assisted surgery, this same process could be used to equal or even surpass doctors in even surgery. This will a market of staggering size for medical in the US consumes four trillion dollars or twenty percent of the US economy while delivering 37th in the world quality.
