San Jose, June 9, 2026 – Akeana, provider of performance-leading RISC-V Processor Systems IP, today announced that it is collaborating with Samsung Foundry, providing a RISC-V ecosystem and customer path to server class SoCs as well as agentic AI CPU compute silicon solutions.
With the ratification of the RISC-V RVA23 profile and the recent definition of a RISC-V Server SoC specification, the foundation has been set for RISC-V to become a contender in datacenter CPUs and agentic AI computation for hyperscalers. Akeana, with its strong line up of CPU and Interconnect IP, worked with ADTechnology for ASIC design and Samsung Foundry for manufacturing, and is the first to lead the industry down this path. The initial step was the Alpine Server Class Test Chip that was recently announced.
“At Akeana, we enable our customers with high performance processors from our Akeana 5000 series, and high-performance interconnect solutions,” stated Rabin Sugumar, CEO and co-founder of Akeana. “We worked with Samsung Foundry for the Alpine test chip to show the maturity of our IP solutions and enable our customers and partners to faster RISC-V RVA23 compliant silicon.”
“Akeana’s silicon‑proven, server‑class RISC‑V SoC built on Samsung Foundry’s 4nm FinFET process demonstrates the exceptional AI compute capability of RISC‑V designs and reaffirms our commitment to advanced nodes for the HPC and AI markets,” said Margaret Han, Executive Vice President and Head of US Foundry at Samsung Electronics. “We recognize the growing RISC‑V ecosystem and Samsung is poised to support partners such as Akeana as they drive the next wave of innovation.”
