The new supervisor reports to the Manager of the Programming Center and has frequent contact with colleagues within the DLC as well as customers. The supervisor will be the main point of contact for the 3 team leaders within the department and provides guidance with daily operations and leadership. As Supervisor inside the Programming Center you are also responsible for achieving the daily production goals and checking and correcting the productivity of the operational activities within the team. One of Arrow’s main Value Added Services is programming of programmable semiconductor devices. For this Arrow has Programming Center’s located over the globe, from which the one located in Venlo at the Distribution and Logistics Center, serves customers for the EMEA market. You will be working with a very international team and communicate regularly with international partners and teams. The working times for this role are in 2 shifts (06.00-15.00, 15.00-24:00) but we ask for some flexibility as well

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Monitoring logistic- and production processes inside the programming center, and maintaining a correct execution and warrantee of the procedures;
  • Sorting out, prioritize and dividing tasks within your team;
  • Keep up reports, productivity- and performance numbers;
  • Supporting and coaching employees with the execution of their activities on a daily basis. You will manage 1-3 team leaders and a planner direct, and indirect ±40 operators.
  • Continuous focus on quality, quantity and productivity to guarantee timeliness and avoiding mistakes, including the execution of preventive and corrective actions;
  • Adequate and ad-hoc follow up on urgent orders and the pro-active signaling of eventual bottlenecks, setting up improvement proposals to raise up productivity and reduce costs;
  • Conducting job, appraisal, assessment and absenteeism interviews;
  • Daily communication/updates to/with the team and other departments, and conducting monthly/yearly performance meetings with the employees within your department;
  • Maintaining order and tidiness of the work environment/department, taking care of timely technical inspections of the machines and implementation of 5s if needed;
  • Promoting co-operation and work atmosphere.

WHAT YOU’RE AN EXPERT AT OR HAVE TO OFFER

  • At least a mid-level (MBO+) education, preferably a finished technical or logistic education.
  • relevant experience and knowledge of technical production, processes and systems.
  • competence in English in speaking and writing and you have strong communication skills.
  • the necessary sensitivity, you are able to multi- and you are capable to develop employees further.
  • pro-active and focused on quality, continuous improvement and results.
  • A clear presenter, work transparently and you can handle conflicts in a diplomatic way.
  • You take initiative, have a problem-solving state of mind and you know how to keep an overview of your department in a structured way.
