Senior Software Engineer

About the Job:

We are looking for a software engineer to join our team where you will be involved in working closely with our sales team, engineering team, and customers. Developing network simulation and emulation capabilities, and running network simulation scenarios, providing on-site customer support/services, and debugging and reporting issues of large-scale, real-time network models.

Responsibilities:

• Understands architecture of existing software and designs new software solutions to conform to modern standards
• Document and communicate issues, risks and concerns to stakeholders, developers, sponsors.
• Participates in the implementation of new features with a team of software engineers
• Create new internal tools (Python, Bash, others) to improve the design, analysis and deployment of our product
• Contributes to Dev Ops efforts currently underway to make sure the product is built, testing and deployed with high reliability and performance
• Assist in the design network scenarios to analyze the best case and worst case performance of wired and wireless networks using high-performance multi-core and cluster computers.

Job Qualifications

• BS and 5+ years applicable experience required, or MS with 3+ years of experience, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years applicable experience with C++, Python and SQL
• Experience with CMake and GCC toolchain
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, Jenkins, and Docker
• Experience with Linux OS including CLI
• Comfortable working in a geographically distributed team
• Ability to translate customer requirements through design and implementation
• Strong passion for developing high-quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
• Demonstrated software development experience through entire project lifecycle incorporating business impacts
• Experience working with cross functional teams located in diverse geographical areas.
• Self-starter. Willing and able to quickly learn new applications and technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience configuring and managing switches and routers
• Experience with TCP/IP protocol stack and OSI Network Model
• Experience with cellular communication systems (3G/4G/5G)
• Experience of architecting & developing solutions in a core discipline of Big Data, Machine Learning, or Data Analytics (or all the above)
• Experience building and installing system packages from source
• Experience with the Atlassian tool chain and Agile software development
• Experience with distributed, real-time analyses or simulation environments
• Experience completing integrated hardware & software systems or solutions
