R&D Verification Engineer II – HFSS/Maxwell Cloud

SUMMARY
The R&D Verification Engineer II joins the Electronics Business Unit (EBU) to conduct software testing of ANSYS applications such as HFSS and HFSS 3D Layout. This role assesses how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. The role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specify and write test cases, creates, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts
- Perform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems
- Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics
- Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company’s overall development and testing processes
- Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, Linux, Virtual Machines,
- Create automated scripts to perform testing on various Cloud offerings and Compute Clusters.
- Understand and reproduce product defects, and work with developers to determine the best resolution.
- Approve product releases from development when feature specifications and quality standards are reached.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Engineering or related field with at least 3 years of experience, or MS with at least 1 year of experience
- Technical knowledge and experience with high frequency principles and applications:
- RF/Microwave Electronics
- Antennas
- Signal Integrity
- EMI/EMC
- RCS
- Strong knowledge of programming and scripting languages:
- Python
- Linux Shell scripting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with analysis tools, such as Ansys HFSS is a plus.
- Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
- Familiarity with EDA/CAE software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
