Job Description

Keysight PathWave Software Solutions (PSS) is seeking a WW Business Development Engineer to grow new markets for Power Electronics Design and Device modeling software.  Power electronics (PE) is all about handling power: generating it, converting it, and moving it from source to load. Keysight delivers design(ADS PEPro) and modeling tools(PEMG) to accelerate customers’ PE workflow and ensure their designs are accurate, reliable, and built for optimal performance.

You will be a critical technical decision-maker in the Power electronics design group to help them adopt the best design methodology and tools to improve the design productivity and reduce the time to the market.  You will work closely with other functional areas such as Marketing, R&D, Technical Support, Quality Assurance, Learning Products, etc., to understand the customer’s design flow and provide whole-product solutions.

You will investigate use cases, such as Switch Mode Power Supply, Electronic Vehicle inverters and charging systems, DC-DC converters in servers and computers, etc.  Conduct design reviews, usability testing, and customer visits to validate requirements.  Collaborate with other R&D teams to form holistic solutions across the board.  Mentor and consult other individual engineers.  Promote best practices in software engineering such as test-driven development, up-front design, code review, unit testing, etc., in our Agile Development Framework.

About the Team:

You will work in the Software Emerging Business team partner with the product owner, application engineer, RD team, and local sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers initial presentations and demos to new emerging business customers
  • Uncovers Power Electronics’ emerging business opportunities from scanning publications, trade shows, webinars, LinkedIn
  • Manages emerging business opportunities and looks for leverage accounts and applications
  • Interfaces with Product Owner and Applications engineers to ensure product new features and bugs are prioritized according to the business opportunity
  • Becomes proficient over time in using and applying PEPro in solving applications deemed “Win” or “Fight.”
  • Leads regular meetings with regional PEPro peaked field members and reports issues, wins/losses, and status of obstacles
  • Develops customer benchmarks to assist in closing imminent deals
  • Creates marketing collateral such as webinars, examples, papers to demonstrate unique selling features of PEPro
  • Delivers internal training modulus to field sales and applications staff at annual training events

Job Qualifications

  • BSEE and MSEE or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years prior experience in sales, marketing, or business development. MBA is preferred. International experience is a big plus.
  • A deep understanding of Power Electronics customers, markets, and ecosystems
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate efforts across a large organization (both internally and externally). The ability to influence is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in building, managing, and developing business relationships
  • Exceptional product, project, and process management skills
  • Track record of success in setting, gaining alignment for and achieving strategic objectives
  • Experience in the development or inbound marketing disciplines that have resulted in new product introductions
  • Robust analytical approach to performance tracking and reporting, as well as funnel management

Desired Qualifications:

  • A good understanding of Switch Mode Power Supply Design workflow.
  • Familiar with EDA Modeling and Design Software, e.g., ADS, ICCAP, LTSPICE, PSPICE, Q3D, etc.
  • Familiar with EM simulation
