Summary / Role Purpose

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what’s ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a subject matter, industry and Ansys solutions expert, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to develop & manage best practices for enterprise solution deployment.. You will consult with customers on simulation-based solutions in support of their key business initiatives, lead project teams to create pervasive simulation solutions and mentor junior engineers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead in developing, managing and applying best practices for enterprise solution deployment.
  • Credibly and professionally understand the customer’s requirements and define statement of work & deliverables for customer facing technical consulting project activities.
  • Work as an integral member of the Sales and ACE teams to progress and secure the consulting business. This will involve working with Sales to develop sales strategies, engaging with customers to understand their existing product development process, developing a vision for enhancing their existing process with Ansys products and services, articulating that vision to the customer, and working with the ACE team to develop a plan for execution of that vision
  • Interact with customers to understand their key business initiatives, product design needs and engineering design workflows; analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys’ value proposition
  • Lead project teams to create differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and products; deploy the solutions within customers’ design workflows
  • Look for opportunities to generate marketing collateral from projects such as success stories, testimonials, and presentation material
  • Actively participate and present technical materials at internal Ansys Technical Summits or other industry technical conferences
  • Collaborate with Product Development to improve Ansys software products and the customers’ experience using these products
  • Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to further enhance Ansys technology, processes and people skills
  • Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentations
  • Mentor Senior engineers

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Masters, Bachelors or Ph.D in Mechanical / Chemical / Aerospace / Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering or related field
  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: Bachelors+8, Masters+6, or PhD+3
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
  • Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys’ business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development, experience with building solutions using simulation technology and deploying those solutions within customers’ engineering workflows
  • Track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and revenue impact
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects which are complex in nature, possesses a sense of urgency
  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: Bachelors+12, Masters+10, or PhD+7
  • 4 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time
