Job Summary

Sells the organization’s products or services and maintains relationships with existing key global/international accounts. Typical primary responsibilities include expanding and developing a global or international account and providing customer service, rather than acquiring new accounts. May be a team leader and provide professional leadership and coordination for team on a single, key, global account. Significantly higher average quota and/or territory. Accounts are key, highly strategic, and have complex requirements. Responsible for significant key partner relationship management and development. Responsible for the master strategy for strategic accounts and ensures the strategy is executed.

Job Requirements

  • The GEM will take ownership of building a three year roadmap for the account to include a strategy for On Premise and Cloud
  • The GEM will identify, build and collaborate with the global resource aligned to the account and work with them to ensure that there is Global consistency in terms of technology, messaging and pricing. There can be no deviation in these areas and the role of the GEM is to ensure this
  • The GEM must work at Senior Executive level to agree the roadmap and ensure buy in from customer
  • The GEM must drive the Account plan and share with all members of the virtual team
  • Set up a regular contact strategy with the key members of the virtual team to track key initiatives
  • The GEM must take a leadership role in making new contacts at the most senior level and must also build an “Internal”  contact strategy for key stakeholders within NetApp i.e Executive sponsor, local line managers of virtual team
  • Teamwork and communication is vital as his team is not a “Direct” report team and in most cases, have other accounts to battle for mindshare
  • Above all, the GEM has to be seen as a thought leader that will be open to listen to his team but be ready to challenge

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
