Job Summary:

Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer – Electrified Powertrain. ​This is a long-term contract position.

What You Will Do:

Responsible for supporting globally in setting the strategy and process for global Supplier Quality & Development. Position is responsible for the overall health and compliance of global supplier quality, oversight responsibility for IATF16949. Purchasing Controls as it relates to quality, leading sustainability with our Suppliers and driving robust utilization of our Supplier Quality Portal. This position is accountable for deployment of best practices and assurance of consistency for supplier audits, supplier statuses, supplier selection, monitoring practices, metrics, and field action prevention in our plants globally. The Global Supplier Quality Manager also serves as the quality leader for strategic initiatives such as audit harmonization, distribution and service supplier initiatives, quality agreement and improvements.

  • Must have strong fundamentals in electric vehicle drive components and energy storage system
  • E-Motors, Inverters, Battery, Client, Charger, DC/DC
  • Should have good understanding of E-Motor testing, Battery testing and calibration
  • Inverter calibration, Client calibration etc.
  • Motor and Battery testing standards
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of High-Voltage safety concepts for HV components and electrical wiring
  • Strong knowledge in High-Voltage and Low Voltage electrical system design
  • Power net design, Power distribution unit, wiring, safety HVIL etc.
  • Must be able to design junction boxes, power distribution boxes and fuse boxes
  • Should be able to design automotive communication network (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet)
  • Should be able to prepare good documentation of the design
  • Good knowledge in Hybrid and EV system architecture design
  • Good understanding of vehicle control system requirements
  • Must be able to lead technically and provide guidance
  • Must be able to develop innovative solutions and application-specific design
  • Knowledge in vehicle propulsion and performance calibration
  • Vehicle testing and calibration for electric system efficiency optimization
  • Professional communication skills to interact with customers

Basics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field required
  • Candidates with Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in automotive industry preferred
  • Understanding of the following tools used in automotive applications
  • Vector CANape, CANalyzer
  • ETAS INCA , ATI Vision
  • Matlab/Simulink, C/C++
  • dSPACE, Motohawk, Pi-Innovo
  • Microsoft Office
