Our client in Livonia, MI is looking for a CAE Engineer Durability. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct durability CAE analysis to support BEV, hybrid, transmission, and driveline activities. Project work includes new and current programs.
  • Use analytical tools and techniques to drive new designs as well as resolve issues relating to manufacturing and quality.
  • Investigate MCR opportunities.
  • Analysis can involve stress, deflection, temperature, fatigue, and fracture mechanics. Models can be linear or nonlinear, involve numerous contacts, and be quasistatic or transient.
  • Interpret results and draw reasonable conclusions.
  • Document results.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, technicians, suppliers, and management.
  • Evaluate new tools and methods to improve analytical efficiency.

Basics:

  • Understand BEV, hybrid, transmission, and driveline operating principles.
  • Be able to translate real-world problems into engineering problems.
  • Familiarity with Hypermesh, Simlab, Abaqus, FEMFAT, or similar tools.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Durability CAE.
  • Minimum MS in mechanical engineering or related field.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of six sigma beneficial.
  • Python.
