Samsung’s 3nm Yield Reportedly Below 20%, Struggling for Mass Production

from what I know about korean work culture. Definitely not

Samsung’s 3nm Yield Reportedly Below 20%, Struggling for Mass Production

Agreed. They deserve a couple more swings of the bat certainly. Still just shocking how leadership let things derail so spectacularly.

Samsung’s 3nm Yield Reportedly Below 20%, Struggling for Mass Production

Something is deeply broken systemically at Samsung foundry

Looks like jumping to GAA for the PR wasn’t the brightest of moves.

Rapidus Set to Open 2-nm Pilot Fab, CEO Says

No one should be worried about Rapidus. This venture is so just unbelievably goofy in its goals and ambitions

Samsung Reportedly Delays Its Texas Fab, Mulling Upgrade from 4nm to 2nm

Korean media is like bottom tier for accuracy I swear. It says Nvidia is one of samsung's biggest customers, but has nvidia has anything made at samsung since samsung 8nm? Weird

German chipmaker Infineon to set up R&D center in Taiwan (The Silicon Shield gets Stronger!)

Agreed. China's "wolf warrior diplomacy" has backfired spectacularly. China is building an alliance against itself including, Vietnam, the Phillipines, Japan, United States, Australia, India and others. All because China wants to bully its neighbours. Really just poor strategic thinking by Xi...

TSMC 3 nanometers are in short supply! Has achieved absolute victory over Samsung and Intel (Korean Media)

7 of the top ten are TSMC customers indeed. With the others being Berkshire, Aramco, and TSMC itself . All roads lead through CC Wei's office

Intel slapped with class action lawsuit over foundry revenues — litigants allege securities fraud

I’m sure Intel legal dotted all their “i’s” . I see this kind of thing all the time whenever a stock depreciates rapidly. Law firms try to jump in and file a class action alleging some sort of wrong doing despite the fact everything I’m sure Intel releases is bookended with significant preamble...

Intel slapped with class action lawsuit over foundry revenues — litigants allege securities fraud

It wont. These are the typical bogus lawsuits trotted out by predatory law firms that want to capitalize on investor angst. This happens whenever a stock does poorly. It will go nowhere.

TSMC 3 nanometers are in short supply! Has achieved absolute victory over Samsung and Intel (Korean Media)

The way I see it. TSMC wins in every scenario. Because everyone has to go to them, it doesn’t matter who wins either design generation. Also I’m not sure you can call it a commodity if they are the ONLY one capable of delivering at the leading edge on time, yield, and scale. Seems like an...

TSMC 3 nanometers are in short supply! Has achieved absolute victory over Samsung and Intel (Korean Media)

Brian K might be up there with one of the worst CEO's of all time. Took a legendary company and stalled it into a nose dive via prioritizing financial engineering.

TSMC 3 nanometers are in short supply! Has achieved absolute victory over Samsung and Intel (Korean Media)

It didn’t stand up to any sort of scrutiny. I would have loved to ask Warren when he was asked this exact question at berkshires conference and explain to him how his decision made no sense

TSMC 3 nanometers are in short supply! Has achieved absolute victory over Samsung and Intel (Korean Media)

Don’t see how TSM doesn’t eventually become the most valuable company in the world at some point. I am more sure about this than I was about nvidia in 2016.

Will Samsung take business from TSM in AI

My read is Samsung is the anti TSMC. They’ve been caught stealing customer IP repeatedly

Curious as to how these alliances are shaking out. Why SK vs micron and vice versa. Not samsung for obvious reasons

    TSMC May 2024 Revenue Report

I saw so many outlets run with the headline “TSMC set to grow at 10%” when management clearly said they forecasted the semi industry overall to grow at 10% and TSMC will exceed that 🙄. Lazy lazy lazy
