Warren Buffett sees Semis Critical to facing Challenges facing the world

Warren Buffet fully understands the leverage that the semi world offers in dealing with the challenges before us if we are to survive on this planet. Semis are key to vastly leveraging our ability to monitor problems of all types from social, economic and environmental, then leveraging greatly our ability to research solutions and apply them. The world has severe problems as over population has strained everything from social, economic and environmental aspects. All these challenges will require cutting edge chips of many types and applications and currently TSM is the only answer to this challenge and they have been devoted to not only leading, but increasing their lead and doing it in a way that is resilient and cost effective. TSM is still a one of and Warren Buffet and his team fully realize they are the winner with not even a close second in development, application and fabrication all at a tightly controlled cost. In short. the TSM ecosystem is without peers and staggering is size when you look at the market caps of their partners, suppliers and customers ecosystems. Any thoughts, comments or additions sought and welcome.

Well said, Arthur. In addition, TSMC's market value would be much higher if not for the dark cloud of CCP threats against Taiwan. Buffett's team clearly believes PRC leadership will not take action any time soon and thus sees recent price weakness as a great opportunity to own one of the most essential companies in the world.

Strictly speaking, TSMC is the only major hightech hardware manufacturer among Berkshire's top investments and wholly owned subsidiaries. Or we can say TSMC is one of the three major Berkshire hightech manufacturing holdings if we include Precision Castparts and BYD in the consideration.

To make this investment even more significant is that TSMC is one of the few Berkshire's top holdings headquartered outside of United States.

Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger have repeatedly said they prefer to invest in the US companies.
