Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., Dec. 3, 2020 – TSMC (TWSE: 2330, NYSE: TSM) today held its 20th annual Supply Chain Management Forum, with sessions on spare parts, facilities, information technology, and advanced packaging, meeting in conjunction with the third Responsible Supply Chain Forum to discuss key topics for the semiconductor industry.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the forum suspended the main session and award ceremony this year. However, under strict anti-pandemic measures, nearly 700 suppliers from the fields of equipment, materials, packaging, testing, facilities, IT systems and services, and environmental and waste management services attended the event, which emphasized corporate social responsibility, improvements to industrial safety, enhancement of parts supply management, strengthening information security, as well as the challenges and requirements of future manufacturing technologies. Since the Supply Chain Management and Responsible Supply Chain Forums were combined in 2019, the event has not only helped to raise the leading-edge technology capabilities of local suppliers, it has also raised their awareness of sustainability issues including energy conservation, carbon reduction, water saving, pollution prevention, and circular economy, partnering with TSMC to build a green supply chain.

“With the support of our suppliers, TSMC was able to lead the industry in volume production of 5-nanometer technology in 2020 and quickly improve yields despite the challenges of the global pandemic,” said J. K. Lin, Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Materials Management & Risk Management at TSMC. “Looking ahead, TSMC will continue building a responsible supply chain, and strengthen collaboration with supplier partners to improve our competitiveness and move towards the next generation’s 3-nanometer technology.”

TSMC also expressed its sincere appreciation to all suppliers at the forum, and will present its “Excellent Performance Award” to 15 outstanding equipment, facilities, materials, and IT service suppliers in recognition of their contributions.
