Silvaco acquires Invarian

Daniel Payne

Moderator
Instead of a large, pubic EDA company acquiring a smaller company, we have Silvaco acquiring Invarian, something different for a change in the EDA world. Silvaco has been around for decades and is well-known in TCAD, however this acquisition gives them something new: IR drop and electromigration analysis.

Wiki Page of All EDA mergers and acquisitions, ever

The LinkedIn page shows that Invarian has between 11-50 employees, so this is a small deal. Noteworthy is that Invarian has EDA tools that are qualified by TSMC, a very nice position to be in for FinFET designs.
