Virtual. In a word, that sums up many of our everyday experiences. Gradually, virtual events were popping up. In the tech industry, virtual conferences and trade shows are the “New Normal.”

One advantage of virtual, or digital, events seems to be popping up. Many in-person tech conferences were cost-prohibitive except for sponsors and key attendees. Virtual events democratize valuable technical content to anyone interested.

Does that mean everyone virtual event is of use or beneficial? That is for the reader to decide. However, here are some that have been well received.

Samtec gEEk® spEEk Webinar Series
Samtec launched the gEEk® spEEk Zoom Webinar Series back in April. Samtec has featured SI thought leaders Scott McMorrow and DesignCon Engineer of the Year Istvan Novak in the webinar series.

The simple goal of gEEk® spEEk was to create a virtual environment for attendees to interact with Samtec’s technical experts and engineering leaders. Samtec is so thankful and humbled by the overwhelming and enthusiastic response to these virtual events.

Many topics have been covered. Many more are upcoming. Check out www.samtec.com/geekspeek for more details.
EDICON Online
EDI CON has a long history within the tech conference industry. For many years, EDICON brought together engineers from RF, microwave, EMC/EMI, and digital design for collaborative learning and networking.

EDI CON was an early adopter of the virtual event trend. In 2019, EDICON ONLINE was launched. The online-only event successfully attracted more engineers to high-caliber presentations when compared to past events. Additionally, all the 2019 technical content is available on-demand.

What about for 2020? The upcoming event features the latest technical training and information in a virtual setting. Keynotes, technical sessions, workshops and product demonstrations are also on the table.

Samtec is a platinum sponsor again in 2020. Stay tuned to the Samtec blog for featured presenters and workshops..

AI Hardware Summit
AI is tackling some very large challenges: crime prediction, human biases, real estate transactions and earthquake frequency to name just a few.
Data scientists and forensics experts must choose the best frameworks and learning algorithms for their applications. On the other hand, can AI hardware solutions be fine tuned for application-specific use as well?

Answers to that and similar questions can be found at the AI Hardware Summit Virtual Event. Instead of being held in person, the event will be virtual between September 29 – October 7, 2020.

AI-hardware

The event will raise awareness of next-gen silicon & systems used in processing deep learning, neural networks & computer vision. Emerging AI hardware platforms and roadmaps will be showcases, and networking opportunities will occur across the AI ecosystem.

Samtec will be demonstrating several next-gen interconnect architectures related to AI-focused silicon and systems. Stay tuned to the Samtec blog for more details on this event.
