Methodics Percipient Platform Chosen for Open Architecture, Scalability, and Reliability

San Francisco, CA, December 11, 2019 – Methodics Inc, the leader in Intellectual Property Lifecycle Management (IPLM) and traceability solutions for semiconductor design, today announced that Mythic has chosen the Methodics IP Lifecycle Management solution, PercipientTM, as the enterprise-wide platform for managing all aspects of its IP design data.

Mythic intelligence processing units (IPUs) leverage analog computing to perform the calculations required for deep neural network (DNN) inference inside flash memory arrays. This analog computation delivers significant advantages over typical digital architectures for AI acceleration, and results in IPUs that offer huge improvements in power, performance, and cost. Mythic IPUs lower the barriers to innovation, making it easier to create cost-effective high-performance AI solutions.

“A key goal for Mythic is to provide our customers a platform that enables the rapid and efficient deployment of DNNs using a variety of common frameworks. We believe the best platforms should be modular and integrate easily with popular tools and networks,” said Ty Garibay, VP of Engineering at Mythic. “Following this same philosophy for our internal development processes, we chose the Methodics solution because of its open architecture and ability to use familiar technologies such as Perforce, HAPROXY, and redis, with the goal that future technologies can also be easily integrated.”

After performing an evaluation of the Methodics solution versus competitors, Mythic chose the Percipient platform to manage and track its internal IP design data and signed a multi-year agreement for use of the software.

“In addition to an open architecture, it is important that our IPLM vendor have a track record of scalability and reliability to share data across multiple design sites, help reduce the need for data storage, easily create and manage design workspaces, and help us find, reuse, and ‘nest’ various IP blocks. After evaluating other companies and talking directly with Methodics customers, we decided that they were the best choice,” concluded Mr. Garibay.
