Invading Taiwan would be China's Ukraine, only worse

China only has to look east to see how well plans go after the first blow is struck. The odds of Taiwan not having some very nasty and effective responses are near zero. I have no doubt that China could take over Taiwan, but that the cost would be beyond China's worst nightmare. It is not only the disasters for China that Taiwan could create in more ways than most can even imagine, but the world's response to a Chinese invasion and China's near total dependence on access to foreign markets to keep their economy running. On top of this is the mess covid is creating in the social and commercial structure. With the mess the Ukraine conflict is creating, adding a Taiwan conflict could plunge the world into an even deeper mess than it is now. Very sadly, we now have the three worst leaders in charge of the world's great powers and this bodes horribly for what could happen to the world's economy and the social structure of the world. Tech has definitely become the glue that is holding the world together both technically and socially. The chance of China gaining from a Taiwan invasion are literally zero and suffering are high. I only hope wisdom will prevail.
