Nokia to buy digital health firm Withings for $191 million | Re/code

Withings is one of the more recognized brands in digital health, particularly for its Wi-Fi digital scale.

Nokia has a stated goal to get back in a consumer business, not just stay in the mobile infrastructure business. We've been saying for some time the next play is IoT infrastructure - this isn't a huge stretch.

This sets up an interesting dynamic as more and more of the IoT startups are looking for big acquisition partners.
 
Interesting to see if Nokia can reinvent itself.

Intel started out designing DRAMs, then went into Microprocessors as DRAM became a commodity that it couldn't be #1 or #2 in.
