Key Criteria Included Enabling Worldwide Collaboration and Scalability

San Francisco, CA, August 15, 2019 – Methodics Inc, the leader in Intellectual Property Lifecycle Management (IPLM) and traceability solutions for semiconductor design, today announced that Acacia Communications,Inc. has selected the Methodics solution to manage their worldwide mixed-signal IP design data within the Cadence® Virtuoso® design environment.

“When we were looking for an IP lifecycle management solution in 2016, we knew we needed one that would provide true design collaboration between our worldwide sites and also scale as we continued to grow,” said Tarun Gupta, Associate Vice President of Mixed-Signal Engineering of Acacia Communications, Inc. “Based on prior experience with Methodics, their solution seemed a good choice and, after an evaluation, we selected Methodics for our needs. We’ve been using their solution for 3 years now, and we’re very happy with the features and quality of the software and their level of support.”

In addition to enabling worldwide collaboration and providing the required scalability, other decision criteria included tight integration with Cadence Virtuoso, the ability to work seamlessly with standard Perforce, intelligent diff and merge for both schematics and layout, and the ability to handle very large Cadence libraries efficiently.

“Given Acacia’s unique challenges of integrating multiple discrete photonic functions into silicon, we’re pleased to have been selected as their ‘solution-of-choice’ for their needs. We look forward to continuing our long-term relationship with such an important industry leader,” said John Simmons, Vice President of North American Sales, Methodics.
