Will AI be able to leverage semiconductor talent?

With a shortage of semiconductor talent, will AI be able to be leveraged to fill the gap? Will the supply of talent to customize AI be a limiting factor to its advancement? Will adapting AI to various fields of all types become the most in demand skill set? What time lines do the SemiWiki community think AI will do to all sectors, not just semis? Will AI advance to the point it does base research? Any time lines for the above questions would also be appreciated.

I feel as an being an investor for a living, AI is the ultimate wild card. Any thoughts or additions sought and welcome. Thanks
