This month we have several exciting feature updates to the website, including a new auto-quote renewal function, a new development kit content page, and an update to our digital tools page. The team continues to work on several major upgrades to Samtec.com in the background as well.

New FireHawk Development Kit Page​

Samtec’s FireHawk™ Evaluation Kits provide system designers, optical and SI engineers an easy-to-use solution for testing a variety of FireHawk™ rugged optical transceivers. Rated at 10 Gbps and 25 Gbps per lane in a x4 configuration, these kits allow the designer real-time evaluation of an actively running FireHawk™ rugged optical transceiver in a lab or benchtop setting.

New Auto Quote Renewal Feature​

Quotes can now be requested to be renewed from a user’s My Samtec portal and will flow through an automated back-end system which will require very little human intervention. This means that quotes can be renewed much faster than ever before.

Quotes that have recently expired will be shown in red on the user Quote Status page. These can then be selected and renewed using the checkbox feature on the left.

This feature has been rolled out to all eligible users and can be accessed in the Quote Status area of My Samtec.

Note: We’ll be releasing a new version of this tool with all new architecture, built from the ground up, in a matter of months. All features will be rolled over from the previous version and many will be upgraded. This will bring far better performance to this system. Keep an eye out for a future blog post.

Updated Digital Tools Page​

We have updated our Digital Tools page with a new banner and graphics. This page provides descriptions and links to all of our online digital tools in one place. We’ll be adding even more tools to it in the coming months as we build additional software applications for our discrete wire products.

Youtube Channel Update​

Our marketing team has been doing some great work on our Youtube channel recently. The videos have been organized in a much cleaner way, as well as updated with descriptions, links, and more. There are close to 200 videos about all things Samtec on this channel.
