Bernin (France), 6 February 2023 - Soitec (Euronext Paris), a world leader in designing and manufacturing innovative semiconductor materials, today announced the appointment of Emmanuelle Bely as Executive Vice President and General Secretary, effective January 10. In this capacity, she will also serve as a member of the Executive Committee and as Secretary to the Board of Directors.

Soitec has entrusted Emmanuelle Bely with the creation of a General Secretariat, to include governance, legal and public affairs. This new General Secretariat is designed to strengthen Soitec's governance, support the implementation of its strategic plan and meet the growing requirements of the company’s legal and regulatory environment.

Emmanuelle Bely graduated from ESSEC and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. A member of the Paris and Madrid bars, she began her career as an M&A lawyer for 14 years in France and the United States with French and international law firms. In 2007, she was appointed General Counsel and Human Resources Director of the Smithfield Group in Paris. Following the merger of the Smithfield Group and Campofrio in 2008, she was promoted to Group General Counsel, based in Madrid. Emmanuelle Bely joined Danone in September 2014 in Paris and initially held various positions within the General Secretariat in Europe, including VP General Secretary for Regions, General Counsel for Partnerships, and VP General Secretary for Waters and Africa and the Southern Cone region. A firm believer in the need to reconcile profit with social and environmental impact, Emmanuelle Bely participated in the construction of the PACTE law and in the development of B Corp certification for Danone, which became the first listed company to adopt the status of Mission-Driven Company in France.

Emmanuelle Bely has also been a member of the Community of Mission-Driven Companies since its creation in 2018, and is a member of its board of directors.
