Silicon Quantum Computers, game changer or experiment

Arthur Hanson

Well-known member
The question is can silicon quantum computing be a game changer or just an experiment that is decades away from implementation? If it is, what companies would make the materials and tooling? I also assume EDA and programing would also have to greatly change. No mention was made if these chips would need ultra cold temperatures to operate. any comments or thoughts appreciated.

Please wake me up when there are more than 64 qubits. I want to care, but this really needs to double every 18months to gain relevancy.

From what I can tell yes this is a big deal. All they need to do now is scale it up and from I can tell this will allow them to scale the quantum processors up to significant numbers.
