Could NFTs replace patents and copyrights?

Arthur Hanson

Well-known member
The question is could NFTs due to their structure be far more cost-effective and be able to adapt more quickly at a lower cost than the current patent system? Might it also allow IP protection on the fly or during the process to establish who was truly first and not just first to file a patent? The current system is costly, inefficient, and prone to conflict. An NFT structure for research and development could significantly reduce cost and save time while rooting out patent trolls with patents and copyrights of dubious or minimal value. This may actually help speed up technologies and their application. Any thoughts
