From AMAT 2021 Investor meeting, it is interesting to see subscription-based business model is adopting in WFE vendor sites(remark: ASML EUV and AMAT now). As the number of leading edge manufacturer down to 3 and top three might spend ~60~70% of WFE market volume, the conflict of subscription(solution) based business model to customers' competition strategy could increase gradually. But it should depend on the scope also. Service only or solution guarantee? Will there be some key success factor for this model? Who will survive in the change? Let's bet it.
