Platforms, Leverage, Compounding, AI/ML, TSM/Success

Rather than doing discovery for a just a one time use, the process should be put into a platform so efforts are not duplicated repeatedly and the knowledge gained and how it was developed can be extended and expanded without going back to the beginning. Also in the process of building all knowledge into a platform as one goes, it clarifies the process and makes it repeatable with a fraction of the effort and also enables sharing to greatly advance the speed of discovery on any project. When an organization incorporates building platforms in parallel to discovery or processes, they leverage their talents and also put them into a form that allows them to be incorporated into AI/ML much more easily. This is about speeding progress across an organization by reusing and leveraging knowledge, processes and thinking in a way that makes it a process that can be duplicated time and time again with ease throughout the organization or project. We have learned to automate other processes, why not discovery?

As the process of discovery and building a platform are made one in the same, it will also force a clarity in a task from the very beginning and also put it in a form that is far more easily applied in AI/ML allowing almost unlimited leverage of its potential to the maximum best use. To put it in simple terms it is to build a process once and put it to its maximum use and potential. The semi industry has many limited examples of this and one extremely large one in the foundry model in TSM that has mastered using the expertise it develops for building semis and constantly improving the process across their whole organization, applying maximum leverage to their people and equipment. I feel even TSM and other organizations could improve on this process by training the people to build platforms and frameworks that allow the knowledge gained to be applied to other areas with maximum efficiency and effectiveness from the very start of any task. The TSM OIP ecosystem is an early example of what is possible and it will be interesting to see how far and what directions it is taken by TSM and its partners. It will also be interesting to see the level of true collaboration in which knowledge and its application go both ways to the benefit of all. This will also require new methods and processes for handling highly sensitive and valuable IP.

All this can be more easily achieved by setting up a framework where a platform is built at each stage of discovery or application. Eventually this process will feed on itself through leverage and compounding, pushing progress ever faster, while reducing cost at the same time. As an organization becomes a platform builder, it can stitch together platforms into ever longer chains further speeding progress and reducing costs. This will also make many of these processes far more easy to put into an AI/ML process to many degrees further amplifying the value of the human resources and current IP.

All of this will require a total change in thought to that of thinking required to incorporating any method of progress into a platform so efforts can be duplicated rather than have to be learned or rediscovered time and time again as we see now. This process will require the entire process of incorporating new employees and training them to be radically changed, incorporating a totally different mind set that allows the use of leverage and compounding to achieve results at ever increasing speed and effectiveness. Also, once this is established within an organization, most discovery will start with an existing platform within the organization.

On a corporate scale, companies that master this would want to acquire partners for the great increase in value they could bring if they master this process throughout their organization. This would present large opportunities for both parties by allowing them to both increase the value of their current human resources and IP under on process that becomes increasing streamlined as it is about constant progress. This could lead to an acquisition wave that could radically transform the face of the industry technologically, structurally and economically leading to further acceleration of the pace of technology for if data is gold, the ability to fully maximize its value in the fastest way possible could unleash unrealized potential.

Platforms are just at the very early stages of adapting to the changes the semi industry is allowing with dramatically improving communications, processing and memory that will allow this to be done on a scale not even imagined just a few years ago. This is just a very short synopses of my thinking and is about my philosophy that the greatest good is about leveraging people and resources to their maximum, useful potential.

Any thoughts, comments or additions solicited and welcome
