Will China do to Taiwan what it did to Hong Kong?

Arthur Hanson

Well-known member
Kyle Bass a hedge fund manager said Hong Kong is an example of what China would do to Taiwan. This example has clearly shown what the Chinese think of a clearly written document signed by two parties. When the US complained, the Chinese threatened to cut off the supply of raw materials used to make antibiotics. Any thoughts or additional observations on this issue would be welcome.

TW is part of China, and CHN is much more convenient than the rest of the world to shape the future of TW in terms of social-economics and military existence. As of it's importance and historical transition, CHN might settle TW issue way better than HongKong and Macau. The baseline of the settlement is there is one country but could be two better systems.

Ukraine's strategy was to kill as many technical people as possible and it worked. That's russia's and China's weakness. China has the ability to manufacture at a scale no other country can but they lack the technical people to use it.

What is that future?

Is it under the CCP jackboot?

Or is it for them to make their own way in the world?

Taiwan is NOT part of People's Republic of China. TW's future shall be defined by the TW people and NOT by CHN. The only way China could occupy Taiwan is the same way Russia invade Ukraine. Hong Kong never has it's own control instead by BK or CHN. It's totally wrong to compare Hong Kong and Taiwan. You shall compare Ukraine and Taiwan.
