SUMMARY:Global Photonics Economic Forum 2026
DESCRIPTION:A Strategic Platform for Industry Leaders\nThe Third Edition of the Global Photonics Economic Forum will convene September 24 – 25 in Malaga\, Spain. Building on the success of the 2024 and 2025 edition this year the forum will focus on defining and sharing joint strategies to tackle the current volatile geopolitical landscape. \nGlobal photonics and semiconductor industries are facing unprecedented disruption. Rising trade barriers\, escalating global tensions\, and shifting industrial policies\, such as the CHIPS Act and Europe’s strategic autonomy push\, are fragmenting supply chains and inflating the cost of doing business. Export controls\, investment restrictions\, and localization mandates are no longer isolated events. For companies navigating this environment\, resilience can no longer be built in isolation. Strategic alliances and cross-border collaboration are now essential to maintain access to critical markets\, secure supply chains\, and influence future standards. \nThere is no other forum exclusively dedicated to shaping the global economic future of optics and photonics technologies. It’s not just about the message\, it’s about who delivers it. The GPEF brings you direct insights from billion-dollar CEOs and senior executives who are navigating these very challenges. Their collective experience\, strategic vision\, and real-world solutions will shape the conversations and collaborations that will define the future of our industry. \nPhotonics is at the center of several high-stakes global transitions\, from AI compute demand and sustainable manufacturing to defense readiness and semiconductor sovereignty. \nGlobal Photonics Economic Forum 2026 – Focus Areas \n\nNavigating Geopolitical Trade Dynamics and Supply Chain Resilience\n\nUnderstanding how global trade policies\, strategic alliances\, and regional initiatives (e.g.\, CHIPS Act\, European Strategic Autonomy) impact photonics and semiconductor industries.\nExploring opportunities for Europe\, Japan\, Singapore\, and other regions to strengthen global collaborations.\n\n\nScaling Photonics Innovations and Industrial Leadership\n\nSharing strategies for turning R&D breakthroughs into scalable\, commercially viable technologies.\nInsights from CEOs of billion-dollar corporations on market trends\, industrial policies\, and innovation roadmaps in photonics and semiconductors.\n\n\nStrategic Investment\, Entrepreneurship\, and Economic Impact\n\nDiscussing venture capital perspectives\, funding models\, and pathways for start-ups and scale-ups.\nHighlighting the economic impact of photonics in AI\, Quantum\, and Data-driven technologies over the next 25 years.\n\n\nDefense\, Security\, and Critical Technologies for Global Stability\n\nExamining the role of photonics in defense\, security\, and strategic industries.\nBridging innovation in photonics with global security needs and industrial resilience.\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Webinar: From Waveforms to AI: Simulating 6G Before It Exists (America's Session)
DESCRIPTION:September 24\, 2026 | 10:00 AM PDT \n6G standardization is accelerating: 3GPP RAN1 is actively evaluating candidate waveforms\, new duplexing schemes\, and advanced channel coding proposals\, with each organization running proprietary simulators under subtly different assumptions. This makes direct comparison of results nearly impossible\, and the gap between academic simulation and production-ready design continues to widen. \nLearn:\n\n\n\n\n\nWaveform Design: How do the leading FDSS\, zero-tail\, spectrum-overlap\, and I/Q-offset proposals actually compare under identical\, 3GPP-agreed evaluation conditions? We run them head-to-head with real PA models from RAN4 device measurements and show the PAPR–spectral efficiency tradeoffs that matter.\nChannel Coding: LDPC and Polar codes for 6G: what changes from 5G NR\, and how do emerging SC-LDPC architectures affect throughput at the link level?\nSubband Full Duplex (SBFD): We simulate SBFD at both link and system level\, showing self-interference impacts and scheduling tradeoffs in realistic multi-cell deployments.\nAI/ML for the Air Interface: We explore the 3GPP AI/ML study items gaining the most traction: ML-based CSI compression and feedback\, AI-driven beam management and beam prediction\, and neural network-augmented channel estimation — demonstrating how learned models integrate into a full-stack PHY simulation and where they deliver measurable gains over classical approaches.\n\nWhether you’re a 3GPP delegate evaluating proposals\, a researcher publishing on 6G PHY\, or an engineer bridging simulation to hardware — this session shows what a standards-grade simulation platform makes possible. \n\n\n\nPresenters\n\nSang-Kyo Shin \nProduct Manager & Scientist\, WirelessPro\, Keysight Technologies \nSangKyo Shin leads the product strategy for WirelessPro\, Keysight’s AI-enabled 3GPP simulation platform that accelerates next generation wireless research. With more than 25 years of experience in wireless communications\, he specializes in system level simulation\, AI/ML integration\, and connecting software-based modeling with hardware design and test workflows. \nHe works closely with R&D teams and global research institutions to guide product direction\, foster collaboration\, and support advanced 5G/6G innovation. As a certified graduate of Stanford’s Artificial Intelligence Professional Program\, Sang-Kyo actively contributes to Keysight’s scientific research initiatives\, most recently focusing on 6G and agentic AI applications. \n\nREGISTER HERE
