Abstract
Designing and analyzing turbomachinery requires powerful modeling capabilities for machines that can operate in a wide range of flow regimes and have significantly different designs. ANSYS CFX and ANSYS TurboSystem provide powerful tools for the modeling of all types of rotating machinery. In addition, these tools can interact with other ANSYS preprocessing software to minimize design and analysis time. The ANSYS CFX-Turbo Tips & Tricks webinar will demonstrate how the latest turbo features can be used effectively, and innovative approaches to using existing features.

Presenter Bio
Rob Blumenthal, Senior Technical Services Engineer

Rob has been with ANSYS since 2000. He provides technical support for ANSYS fluids products and turbo tools. Rob’s areas of expertise include turbomachinery design and analysis. Prior to working at ANSYS, Rob worked at Aerojet for 15 years specializing in design and analysis of turbomachinery for liquid rocket propulsion. Rob received his BSME from UC Davis, and his MSME from SDSU. Rob has also taken additional graduate-level course work in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics from UC Davis.

Outside of the office, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He’s active in two volunteer organizations, El Dorado County Sherriff’s Search and Rescue and the El Dorado Nordic Ski Patrol. Rob is also a licensed EMT in the state of California.
