About this Webinar

The use of computational fluid dynamics in the design and analysis of aerospace vehicles has become routine over the past several decades. However, the use of adjoint techniques for optimizing the performance of those vehicles has evolved only over the past ten years.  This webinar delivers a brief overview of the adjoint methodology (as implemented in Ansys Fluent) and explore several examples of adjoint optimization applied to a diverse range of aerospace problems.

  • Understand adjoint optimization methodology.
  • Receive expert tips on Ansys Fluent adjoint implementation.
  • Explore an example of adjoint optimization applied to A&D problems.

Speakers: Frank Kelecy, Henry Vu

Frank is a lead application engineering for ANSYS based in Boulder, Colorado. Frank has over 20 years of experience in CFD technical support at ANSYS, with a focus on a wide range of aerospace and turbomachinery applications.

Henry joined Ansys 3.5 years ago as a Senior Application Engineer and has provided technical support to customers for both structural and fluids simulations. Prior to Ansys, he spent several years working as a simulation expert in both the Aerospace and Energy industries. Henry received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside.
